# Tripautomate Audit Report - ColdVisit

> Complete sample report from a real ColdVisit landing + onboarding audit of [TripAutomate](https://www.tripautomate.com/).

## Verdict

- **Score:** 7/10 — Easy to start. Broken at the finish line.
- **Headline:** Signup wins. Product dies one click before first value.
- **Summary:** TripAutomate removes every classic objection — no card, $10/seat, Google signup in under two minutes — then strands the new agency at Trip Assistant, where “Fill empty days” looks ready and does nothing. That is not a polish issue. That is burning paid attention after you already won the click: zero peer proof on the page, and a dead aha button inside the product.

### Honest verdict

**You won the signup. You lost the aha. That is the expensive gap.**

Landing makes trying feel safe and cheap. Onboarding walks the user all the way to “Paris Trip,” opens the assistant, and then the generate controls ghost three clicks in a row. Add the missing social proof on the page and you still lose them if first itinerary never appears — so the real leak is promise → product, not another hero tweak.

Every trial you buy with a clean signup is wasted the moment the money-button fails. Fix that click, or keep paying for visitors who leave thinking the product is broken.

## Scorecard

- Message & Positioning: 6/10
- Audience Fit: 7/10
- Action Path: 8/10
- Trust & Credibility: 5/10
- Content Depth: 6/10

## Browser journey (landing)

### 1. The agent lands on the homepage

**“Your travel business, finally in one place” names the audience fast — sell trips, not software.**

Agency owners self-identify in seconds. The catch: “finally in one place” is a promise every tool makes, so differentiation still has to earn its keep.

### 2. The agent scrolls features and pricing

**Proposal → client portal → billing looks real. Customer proof never shows up.**

You can see the workflow. You cannot see a single peer who already runs their agency on it — and that is when intent cools.

### 3. The agent clicks Start free trial

**Register confirms 14 days free, no card, plus Google and Microsoft signup.**

The handoff is clean. If the landing page had one agency quote above this button, this would feel like a no-brainer instead of a brave try.

## Primary fix

**No social proof anywhere on the page**

Agency owners are about to change how they sell trips. Without a logo, quote, or “used by X agencies,” the trial feels like a leap — even at $10.

Recommended action: Put one short customer quote (agency name + city) directly above pricing, or three tiny logos under the hero CTA. Proof next to the ask beats another feature bullet.

## Onboarding / activation

- **First value:** User generates their first itinerary
- **Outcome:** First value not reached (no_progress)
- **Steps toward value:** 20
- **Closest point:** Closest win: Step 16 — trip created, Trip Assistant open. One working click on “Fill empty days” would have been the aha. That click never registered.

### What blocked activation

- **Trip Assistant buttons would not click** — “Fill empty days” and “Start: Tell the day story” sat on screen like the main event — then ignored every click. Three retries, zero progress. That is where new agencies die.

### Activation fixes

- **[now] Fix the dead Trip Assistant buttons first** — Those two controls are the bridge from “I signed up” to “I got an itinerary.” If they do not click, every new trial stalls at the finish line.
- **[now] If something is missing, say so out loud** — Buttons that look alive but do nothing teach users the product is broken — they mash, shrug, and churn.
- **[next] Put registration on one screen** — Splitting five fields across two pages adds a click and a chance to bounce for no security win.
- **[next] After trip creation, point at the win** — Users who just created a trip are one guided click from value. Do not make them hunt for the assistant.
- **[later] Make the onboarding tour skippable without hunting for X** — A blocking tour before any value feels like homework on day one.
